Thank you for your assistance with The East of England Energy Efficiency Awards 2025

I wanted to follow up on the feedback I gave you and the team on Thursday, and perhaps you may wish to share this with your General Manager and Directors.

Firstly, WOW!!!!

The service at Manor of Groves has been outstanding.

When we discussed bringing our awards to Manor of Groves, we highlighted that there were two essential requirements for our events; Good Food and Swift Service.

The food at the Manor of Groves received universal praise from our 150 guests.

One guest said “it was the best food any venue has served at the East of England Awards” and they have been coming to our events for over 9 years.

When your Head Chef came out to see us and discuss dietary requirements with us before the event, it reassured us that we would be in good hands and showed that the management in the kitchen was paying attention to details. Often in venues, the chefs hide away and never want to engage with the customer, so expectations are not mutually recognised, but your chef, and his brigade, did a phenomenal job delivering to a standard that we understand is difficult to deliver consistently across 150 covers.

The chefs were aided in the food delivery by what can only be described as the most impressive waiting service we have seen.

Many venues try to cut costs by minimising the number of staff on duty as servers for an event. They also rely on inexperienced and poorly trained students or agency staff to deliver the food from the kitchen.

This was clearly not the case with the Manor of Groves. The service was the swiftest we have experienced in 11 years of running these events, not only in the East of England but all over the UK.

The quality of the service ensured that the food came out of the kitchen hot, and guests were not left sitting with dirty plates or wondering when the next course would arrive.

We allocate one and a half hours for dinner service (7.15pm to 8.45pm) and have become accustomed to venues not being able to serve coffee until nearly 9pm.

At the Manor of Groves we were astonished to find the service completed 15 minutes ahead of our published schedule, and delighted that someone has finally delivered exactly to our expectations.

In 129 events this is the first time that any venue has managed to be more than 2 minutes ahead of schedule. An outstanding achievement.

For this we would like to acknowledge all the members of the operations team and delivery team, who proved to be the most competent, friendly and engaging team we have had the pleasure to work with.

From the manager to event coordinator to bar staff, everyone was very helpful and friendly. We were very impressed, and we will be back.

Wedding on 12.10.24

Hi Lucy,

We have to start by saying a big thank you to you, Amelia and all the staff at Manor of Groves. The day was perfect and a huge part of that was you and your team.

The day (and the days before and after!) ran so smoothly and if there were any issues, we were not aware of them. The staff were so professional and made sure everything went to plan and managed all of our guests expertly.

Some of the guests took full advantage of the open bar and the fact that the bar credit was almost exactly what we needed was an added bonus!

The staff were always on hand but never in the way. It’s a testament to the organisation of your staff that the room was turned over so swiftly between the ceremony/meal/evening and still looked great.

The meal was delicious and all of the (many!) dietary needs were catered for without any fuss.

The guests that stayed the night loved the rooms they had and we all enjoyed the breakfast the next morning. Natalie and I would definitely like to stay in our room again soon.

Saturday 6th July 2024 - Colonnade Suite Wedding

The day was everything we had hoped for apart from the weather .

But the fantastic venue made up for the weather , Jasmin was great went over and above to make sure everything run smoothly ,even when the toast master was taken unwell .

All of our guests have said the same , that all the staff were fantastic and the venue was superb all in all an amazing day
