Sure enough, the par 71, 6,237-yard course has been carefully enhanced by us to provide an even more rewarding experience for players. Hertfordshire is one of those parts of the country that just screams ‘golfing holiday’ – and with good reason. After all, you could barely choose a more seductively green part of the country in which to enjoy any kind of break. Furthermore, with many fine courses to be found in and around the county, you don’t exactly have a shortage of great golfing holidays in Hertfordshire from which to choose.
However, it isn’t too often that many of us come across a golfing hotel that really does seem to tick all of the boxes. Manor of Groves is exactly that kind of place – and here’s why.
A course as challenging and as rewarding as any other
Before we get onto the not-insignificant fact that we are a hotel, let’s consider our golf course itself, which was already highly rated even before recent improvements to its design.
With its par 71, 6,237 yard layout, the Manor of Groves golf course offers the perfect variety of well-kept greens and fairways to keep you tested and intrigued, whether you’re a golfing novice or veteran. It’s divided into two differing nine hole loops, with the front nine weaving in and around the traditional manor gardens. The back nine, meanwhile, is distinguished by its wide sweeping fairways stretching out over jaw-droppingly beautiful parkland.
All of the luxuries of one of the county’s leading hotels
You couldn’t hope for a more idyllic setting in which to enjoy golfing holidays in Hertfordshire than the 150 verdant acres in which our beautifully restored Georgian Manor House and associated golf course are set.
The hotel itself offers 80 bedrooms, all of which are beautifully presented and comprise hypo-allergenic pillows and duvets, a multiple-channelled LCD television, telephone, hairdryer, ironing station and much more.
The golfing packages that will have you salivating
Tie the above and other elements together, and you have some of the most enticing packages for golfing holidays in Hertfordshire – and yes, we do mean of any hotels in Hertfordshire.
A typical Manor of Groves golf break includes a relaxing stay in one of our twin or double bedrooms, along with a full and satisfying breakfast and a delicious three-course dinner served in our acclaimed La Brasserie restaurant – as well as, of course, the round of golf itself!
However, we also offer various seasonal promotions from time to time, and if there are any available at the time you get in touch with us, we’ll be happy to give you the lowdown on them.
So why hesitate? Contact the Manor of Groves team now on 0333 358 3499, or by emailing email@example.com, to learn more about why your next golfing holidays in Hertfordshire could – with our help – be the best you’ve ever had.

There are quite a few good reasons why you may look for wedding venues in Harlow. You may be a local resident who is more than aware of the locality’s charms and abundance of fine places to get married. Alternatively, you and your partner may have a sentimental connection to this beautiful part of England, or it may simply be a location that all of your prospective guests can easily reach.
Let’s take a closer look at why Harlow can be such a brilliant marriage location, with particular reference to our own resplendent venue here at Manor of Groves.
Harlow is rich in history
Let’s face it – even amid so many of the perfectly satisfactory and well-equipped contemporary wedding venues out there, great numbers of us are still most attracted to the idea of getting married in especially historic surroundings.
Not only is Harlow itself steeped in such history, with the many Victorian buildings centred on Old Harlow, but the same can be said of local wedding venues such as Manor of Groves.
Our Georgian manor house is thought to have been the country house of London lawyer Thomas Nathaniel Williams (1781-1841), who remodelled an existing older building in the 1820s. Today, the property continues to exude the utmost in Georgian elegance.
There’s a wonderful atmosphere
Harlow’s largely rural surroundings are much like the rest of Hertfordshire, which helps to imbue such venues as Manor of Groves with a certain relaxed ambience. Indeed, we are set in 150 acres of idyllic countryside that quite simply has to be experienced!
The great vibes are sustained on the inside of our property, with our air-conditioned and adaptable Manor Suite and the beautiful, historic Colonnade Suite striking just the right balance between spaciousness and intimacy to help to ensure everyone in your wedding party has a great time.
You won’t get lost trying to find it
The strong rail, road, air and bus connections that Harlow enjoys with the wider UK are among the biggest factors in its popularity as a place to get married.
Manor of Groves is not only a mere 30-minute train ride away from central London, but can also be reached within 20 minutes from London Stansted Airport. So whether you will be welcoming guests from overseas or simply elsewhere in England, there is good reason to put us on your shortlist of wedding venues in Harlow.
Don’t overlook Harlow when you are seeking out the best venue at which to celebrate your union and tie the knot. Call the team here at Manor of Groves today, on +44 (0) 1279 600 777, to find out how we can help to make your own ceremony and reception memorable for all of the finest reasons.

Anyone wishing to feel truly chilled-out and pampered would have good reason to seek out a health spa in Sawbridgeworth. After all, this locality is very much the epitome of the pretty and relaxing Hertfordshire town, with a population of just 8,500 people and plenty of charming historic buildings.
The latter is evident on one look around the town centre, much of which is a conservation area, with an assortment of pleasing Tudor, Stuart and Georgian buildings to catch the eye.
Then, there is the very special former Georgian residence that is now one of this picturesque county’s most popular hotels and health spas: Manor of Groves.
You’ll feel thoroughly pampered
Strictly speaking, the Grade II-listed Manor of Groves isn’t located in Sawbridgeworth itself, but instead the village and civil parish of High Wych, just over one mile to the south-west. However, it really does offer everything that one could hope for from a health spa in Sawbridgeworth.
The Manor of Groves Health Club is, after all, an accredited Dermalogica skin care centre, which means you can look forward to the highest standard of luxurious spa treatments.
Not only does our accreditation mean we use the highly professional Dermalogica products often unavailable in other spas in and around Sawbridgeworth, but our spa treatments are also available to members, residents and people who don’t fit into either of these categories. Yes, that’s right: you don’t even need to stay overnight with us or commit to a membership to take advantage of our acclaimed treatments.
Pamper packages, massages, pedicures, manicures and waxing treatments are being provided right now at our health spa in Sawbridgeworth. Nor are men left out, as we can also offer the likes of tension-busting massages, male skin fitness treatments and sports manicures and pedicures for the not-quite-as-fair sex!
But we can also give you so much more...
Did we mention that Manor of Groves isn’t just a health spa, but also the complete health club, boasting all manner of contemporary amenities such as a 20-metre swimming pool, three-tier Techno Gym suite and a sauna, steam and Jacuzzi?
We really do mean it when we say you’ll feel better looked-after here than anywhere else in or near Sawbridgeworth. So why not enquire now to our health club team, by calling +44 (0) 1279 603 544, to discover what leading spa treatments are presently available from us?

The idea of combining a health club with a hotel might seem to be fraught with pitfalls for the user, particularly when you only initially intend to take advantage of either the health and fitness facilities or the overnight accommodation. Is it really a good idea for both to be on the same site?
Whatever your fears may be – perhaps of the health club being far inferior to the quality of the hotel, or even being overcrowded due to demand from hotel guests – you need not worry when you make Manor of Groves your choice of health club in hotel.
We can offer it all
First things first – let’s consider what our health club has to offer, and the answer is: a lot.
Whether you are most interested in first-class facilities such as a three-tier Techno Gym suite or 20m swimming pool, or perhaps beauty treatments from a Dermalogica accredited skincare centre, or even just member discounts, it’s all available at our health club in hotel.
You will be pleased, too, to discover that our studio timetable is a packed one, encompassing such classes as Body Conditioning, Aqua Zumba, Pilates, Boxercise and Hatha Yoga.
Indeed, with aerobic workouts, balance and stability, high impact workout and pool-based classes all headed by the most diligent and well-trained professionals, you really do have everything you need here to achieve your most ambitious health and fitness goals.
Our location brings so many more perks
Choosing a health club in hotel in the stunning rural surroundings that Hertfordshire offers gives you access to an even greater number of advantages beyond the premises themselves.
These include our proximity to such local attractions as Imperial War Museum Duxford, historic Cambridge, Colchester Zoo and Hatfield House. There’s also our hotel itself, of course, and with access to our Health Club restricted to members and residents only, you can be assured that it won’t feel overcrowded, whether you are a local with a membership or are just visiting for the weekend.
On the subject of memberships, you have many options there too, including Over 60s, Full Peak and corporate membership plans for companies. So why not call our team today, on +44 (0) 1279 600 777, to find out more about just how easy it is to join?

If your perception of Harlow has
long been that it is a mere post-war New Town in the outer part of the London
commuter belt, it’s understandable that you may not exactly consider it the
most obvious part of the country in which to get married.
However, once you discover Manor of Groves, you are almost certain to think again. Harlow is, for one thing, much older than many people realise, with the suburb now known as Old Harlow having been recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086.
Manor of Groves itself, meanwhile, has existed in some form since ancient times. However, the Georgian appearance of our main building can be attributed to the major remodelling work undertaken here by the Shoreditch-born lawyer, Thomas Nathaniel Williams (1781-1841) in 1823.
So, our venue is rich in history... but does that mean we’re stuck in the past?
The short answer is: no, definitely not! In fact, as you arrive at our venue through our enchanting surrounding parkland, you are almost guaranteed to be entranced by the gorgeous blend of old and new that the modern-day Manor of Groves represents.
Our choice of wedding suites very much epitomises this. If it’s a historical and elegant backdrop on which you wish to tie the knot, you really can’t beat our Colonnade Suite, which incorporates a stylish Loggia sporting original neoclassical flooring and a glass facade opening out into stunning gardens. This suite accommodates as many as 150 guests for an evening reception.
A more contemporary-styled space, though, is our Manor Suite. It’s based in its own building, is wonderfully air-conditioned and has ample room for up to 500 guests. There’s also an exclusive bar, cloakroom, toilets, entrance hall and even a private powder room for the bride, all of which may be a lot more than you ever expected from a wedding venue in Harlow.
Why not get in touch about formalising your union with us?
When you also consider such factors as our complimentary parking, special bedroom rates for guests and longstanding relationships with kosher, Asian, Greek and Italian caterers in the wider locality, you might find it hard to escape the conclusion that we really are the complete wedding venue.
Enquire now about making Manor of Groves your choice of wedding venue in Harlow. It’s as simple as calling us on +44 (0) 1279 600 777!
